Course Description
This is a beginning guitar class that covers the elements of melody, rhythm, and harmony on the guitar. No prior experience is necessary. Focus will be on playing rhythmic accompaniment to popular songs involving strumming and finger-picking. The first class will start with basic chord fingering. Basic music theory and notation will be introduced but not emphasized. Students will be able to play several songs of their own choice by the end of the course. Bring a functioning acoustic guitar and tuner to the first class. Instructor will provide all other materials.
